It’s been a little while since I’ve done a post updating you on the status of our basement apartment. Basically, not a TON has been done to it, but it’s still moving along. The wall between the bedroom and the living room/kitchen is up (well, the 2×4′s are, at least — see below).

That photo was actually taken over a week ago. Since then, all of the wiring has been ran in the bedroom (and the living room, I believe), and there is a frame built for the bedroom door. I think they’ll be getting the pool table out of there this week so that they can build the wall that separates the “apartment” from the rest of the basement.
There is still a ways to go, but it’s nice to see some progress being made! We’re trying to make decisions on design ideas now (ex: whether we’ll have a sliding door OR a mirrored door for the closet in the bedroom; we’re leaning toward the sliding door on that one, I think), so that part is getting fun. I’m sure they’ll get more done this week, so maybe I’ll be able to post an update this weekend!

My blog crush this week is, well, more than one person. The Grey’s Writer’s Blog is a place I like to go every Friday morning. The writer(s) from the episode of Grey’s Anatomy that aired the night before write about said episode in more detail. He/she writes about why things happened the way they did. It’s a must for any Grey’s fan!

This was a fun, creative writing prompt from Twenty-Something Writers.

You are a single moth, fluttering into the light. Your eyes are blinded–at first–then you see clearly. Your previous life; your hopes and dreams–they’re all here in this beautiful collection of music. Close your eyes and imagine what has passed. The realizations of it all will quickly flow back. Hindsight is always twenty-twenty, afterall.
Be sure to check out Twenty-Something Writers and add us to twitter @20sw (because I tweet for them!) for updates.

I got my hair chopped off yesterday, went on a hike, AND I was over here.

It’s okay to…
-wait four months to cut your hair (oh, who am I kidding? No, it’s not. Here’s to going every six weeks!)
-go to the high school production of The Diary of Anne Frank even though you’re not in high school anymore. (I’m going tonight.)
-have more electronics in your purse than you really need. Um, y’know, just in case?
-carry your purse while hiking. (Actually, that one really isn’t okay either; I nearly killed myself several times just to make sure it didn’t fall in a puddle.)
-cry yourself to sleep a few nights in a row … for no apparent reason, really. (Right?)
-question your “it’s okay’s” for the week…
Oh, Josh and I want to start riding bikes since the weather is nicer, so I might be getting this:
