I’ve taken the plunge–I bought a domain! My blog is now at somewhatvoluble.com! (update your readers!) I’m still hosting with wordpress, as you can see, for the time being. For the future, what are your suggestions for a place to host? Eventually, I’d like to merge my blog and my photoblog.

Yay! Congrats! I am not sure why having ones own domain name is so exciting, but it really is. Since I’ve recently had some issues with my hosting, I feel pretty good about recommending Netfirms, who I’ve switched to. A few reasons: 1. They’re cheap, like, cheaper than most hosts I’ve found. 2. They’re Control Panel is easy to understand and manage (Dreamhost was tricky and confusing) 3. They’re customer service people are very nice and helpful. I’ve also heard really good things about Bluehost, but they seem to be a bit more expensive. Let me know if you have any questions! Getting your own domain is very exciting. I use Bluehost, and they’ve worked really well for me, which is great because I basically have no idea what I’m doing.
It’s nothing huge, but it’s still pretty exciting for me! I may attempt the domain in a month of two, though.
