I know these posts have been few and far between. Progress on the basement apartment has been moving very slowly, BUT it’s still moving.
Josh and his grandad FINALLY moved the pool table out of the apartment area and into the other part of the basement. After that, they were able to put the final wall up.

(Image above is from standing outside of the “apartment” looking in. The gap is, obviously, where the door will be. Yeah, the basement is messy; sorry for the desk that’s in the way.)
Since the image was taken, they have built the framing for the door. Not only that, but almost all of the wiring is done. Josh wired for the ceiling fans the other day, and he put the can lights above where our bed will be in the bedroom. He just needs to put the other set of can lights above the bar in the kitchen area. This weekend, they’ll be picking out the countertop, and hopefully they’ll start the insulation process soon so that they can put the drywall up. Also, they’ve built the wall for the closet in the bedroom; the framing for the doors still needs to be done, however.
I’m just looking for this thing to be done so that I can start feeling at home!

Well, I’m excited about the progress that’s been made on the basement. However, I’m much more excited about the other news!
Can’t wait to see the blog about it!
