My weekend was long and eventful in a way. Though I had posts every day, I was hardly near the computer at all. (I love being able to schedule posts!) There are some things to be discussed, and even though I’m afraid of jinxing anything, I think I can discuss them here.
First, I may be getting a car. (Finally!) It’s been almost two long years since I’ve had a car of my own. Josh and I have been sharing his, and it has become increasingly difficult. Since I work during the day, it’s nearly impossible for him to look for a job. Just last week, I decided it was due time to look for a vehicle of my own. I’ve been doing some saving, and even though it isn’t much, I’ll be able to purchase a used vehicle for $2500 or less. Well, I found a car and we looked at it yesterday. We’re in the negotiation process at the moment, so nothing is set in stone. And that’s all I’m saying about that! (Keep your fingers crossed for me.)
Not only that, but it looks like Josh and I are going to be making a change within the next month or so. A good change. A change we’ve been awaiting for nearly a year now. This change? A house of our own. As in, not the basement apartment, but a REAL house. With three bedrooms. And two bathrooms. And a kitchen, living room, family room, dining room, and a real yard that will have to be mowed! This house we’ll be living in? It’s the house Josh grew up in, and it’s the house he lived in by himself when we first started dating. (His grandparents own it.) It was being rented out, but due to personal matters, the renters will be moving out by next month! After painting and cleaning the carpets, we’ll be able to move in! We’ll have a place to call home for the first time since we’ve been married. I’m beyond excited.
I feel as if this is coming at a perfect time in our lives. We’ll be starting our second year of marriage next month, and I believe we’re truly ready for this. I’ve always believed that timing is everything, and I’m anxious to get things going!
(As for the basement apartment? We’ll still be finishing it, but without the kitchen, probably. Maybe my brother-in-law will be able to have his own space during his senior year of high school!)
