Early this morning, I registered for the classes I’ll be taking in the spring. Yesterday, I sat at my computer for a good hour, making a spreadsheet that planned out what classes I would need to take to get my Associate’s Degree before I’m able to transfer to a university. I think I’ve finally realized that I definitely want to do psychology, though. After looking through all of the classes I’ll need to take, it’s easy to say I’ll enjoy each and every one of them.
For the spring semester, I have twelve hours of classes planned (making me a full time student once again–I only took nine hours this semester). My classes are:
- Introduction to Women’s Studies. My major requires me to take six hours of Behavioral and Social Science courses that aren’t in my field of study. (This will fulfill three of said hours.) I’m so excited to be taking this class. Though I’m hardly a feminist, being a woman makes me interested in what women did in history.
- Introduction to Sociology. This course will fulfill the other three hours I need in Behavioral and Social Science. I’m interested in this class and learning about different culturies/societies.
- Western World Literature I. I took a U.S. History course, but I found out I don’t really need it. (Luckily, I can use it as a Humanities credit, though.) Instead, I had the option to take Western Humanities I OR World Civilizations I. I chose the former, and I’m excited about learning about the classical, medieval, and Renaissance periods.
- Human Growth & Development. I took Child Growth & Development this semester, and I LOVED IT. It was, by far, my favorite class. I figured HG&D would be easy since I’ve studied growth up to teenagers so far.
There are so many classes I’m interested in taking, and I just want to keep adding more, but I don’t want to overwhelm myself. All of my classes will be online, which is really all I can do at the moment, since I work full time, Monday through Friday.
After going over my schedule for the next few semesters, it looks like I’ll be able to graduate with my Associate’s Degree in the spring of 2011. It seems far away, but it’s really closer than it looks, and I’m excited. After that, I plan on transferring to a university in the Fall of 2011 to work on my Bachelor’s and eventually, my Master’s degree.
Of the classes I’m taking next semester, have you taken any of them? If so, what did you think? Any “helpful hints” for a full time student/full time worker/full time wife? (Husband will also be attending school full time this semester–two of his classes online and two classes on campus while I’m at work.)
