Happy Birthday to Me

Twenty-one years ago today, I was born. (At 4:16 a.m. to be exact.) Six weeks before my actual due date. I spent the first month of my life in a hospital because I would fall into a deep sleep and “forget” to breathe. Here I am on my twenty-first birthday with the ability to say I survived. So, in honor of my birthday, if you’d like to do something nice, donate to the March of Dimes to help save premature babies and to stop premature births in the future. If not there, donate to the Ronald McDonald House, a place that housed my young parents while I was in the hospital. While you’re at it, head on over to Starbucks and buy a handcrafted beverage. They’ll donate five cents in support of World AIDs Day. Just because.

*I am not receiving any rewards from the previously mentioned charities. I just think the holidays call for giving back.
