The Day After

by Megan on June 5, 2010

If you’ve been following my twitter account, you know that I had my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday. Well, as I have been under the influence of pain medicine, I decided to record my very first video blog. Sorry that this is over ELEVEN MINUTES long, but I was trying to explain my day yesterday and how I didn’t remember a lot of it.

Yes, I know I look a mess, but I only had a few hours of sleep last night, and I’ve been on the couch all day … and as I’ve said, I’ve been taking pain medication. So, there you have it.

P.S. Toward the beginning, you can hear a crash in the background. That was Loki jumping off of something.

You sound so much less ANNOYING than I do in a Video blog! I’ve never been put under anaesthetic before either – so I would be really creeped out too.

Honestly, you really are looking good considering what you’ve just gone through!

I’m so glad your surgery went so well. The drugs must have really made you out of it! I have never had a time where I completely forget everything after the surgery.

It doesn’t look like you are too swollen which is good, hopefully your body is healing up well and you will feel okay going to work on Monday!

As for the teeth brushing, I don’t think that I brushed differently when I had my teeth out but I did use a water pick after about a week to keep food out of the area when there the stitches were (I don’t know if they even sell water picks anymore).

Feel all the way better soon!

Glad you’re feeling better! I’ve stopped telling people about my experience getting my wisdom teeth removed, because it was so easy and I wasn’t sick and I was eating regular food by that night, which is not has it has gone for anyone else I know!

I’d love to see a vlog with the cats. They sound adorable!

Reading other people’s accounts of having their wisdom teeth removed it sounded annoying but not such a bad thing. What you’ve said here’s averaged that out. It’s scary you can forget things even after you’ve come round.

Good to hear you’re feeling better!

I’m glad that it was an uneventful surgery! Getting your wisdom teeth removed is such a weird thing, I remember waking up I felt like Frankenstein- I was so out of it and slow moving and felt very patched together! lol

Heal up quick! And I love the video blog, you’re so cute and your post-surgery cheeks just make you cuter <3

For some reason I can’t get this to play on my comp right now, but YUCKKK. Hope you’re feeling OK! When I had mine removed, my right cheek turned green on the outside from bruising. No fun.

You don’t look swollen at all! I always heard people look like chipmunks after the surgery :-)

You sound and look great for just having your teeth yanked! I wasn’t put under when they took mine out–I had valium and some sort of gas–and when I was less delirious, they handed me my teeth (ew) and told me I had requested them for the tooth fairy. What?! Drugs…good times, no?

I hope you’re feeling all better by now!

You look great! :) I loved having mine removed because I slept for days and lost weight on jello & water haha.
