About

A short FAQ:

1. How old are you? How old is your husband?

As of December 1, 2009, I am twenty-one. Husband is twenty-three as of December 31, 2009.

2. When did you and Husband begin dating? When did you get engaged? Married?

We officially began dating on January 13, 2007 while I was still a senior in high school. (We officially met in person sometime in February 2005.) We moved in together in August 2007 and were engaged November 6, 2007. Our wedding date was June 17, 2008.

3. Wait, I’m confused. You lived together before you got married? But I thought you lived with your in-laws your first year of marriage?

That would be correct. We had our own apartment in Chattanooga, TN (while we went to school) from August 2007 to July 2008, where we had two roommates throughout that period of time. In July 2008 (a few weeks after getting married), we moved in with my in-laws to save money. We ended up living there until June 2009, which is when we moved into our own three bedroom, two bathroom home.

4. What is Husband’s real name, and why don’t you use it on the blog?

Husband’s real name is Josh. From time-to-time, I may use his real name, but I mostly don’t for privacy reasons. I’m sure he doesn’t want his name smeared all over the internet. Also, I use “Husband” in consideration of new readers. That way, you won’t be confused as to who I am talking about if you haven’t been reading for long.

5. What do you do for a living?

Well, I don’t like to go into the specifics because of security reasons, but since January 2009, I’ve worked as an Admin. Assistant for an engineering group at a nuclear power plant. (It’s not as hard as it sounds.) Mostly, I schedule meetings, make copies, work on spreadsheets … I like the people I work with, and I don’t dread going to work every day. (This is the first job I’ve had in which I have felt that way.)

6. Aren’t you a student as well?

Yes. Along with my full-time job, I’m going to school full time. (No worries, all of my classes are online right now, so it makes it much easier to maintain.) I’m majoring in Psychology, and I just completed my twenty-first hour toward my Associate’s Degree. I’m hoping to graduate with my Associate’s in the Spring of 2011, and in the Fall of 2011, I will begin working toward my B.S. in Psychology. Eventually, I’d like to earn a Master’s in Psychology. My main goal is to work as a counselor for children and teens.
