Time for another installment of Nora’s Wine and Love series.
Things this week that make me want to drink a glass (or bottle!) of wine orange juice:
*I think I’m sick. I have all the symptoms of a cold–sore throat, chills, body aches, stuffy/runny nose, headache, clogged ears. Of course, it could just be allergies. Either way, it’s not fun at all. I woke up last night (well, this morning) at 1:30 a.m. and couldn’t fall asleep again until after three because of my stuffy nose. Then, I had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. for work. Yeah, that just wasn’t fun. I’m ready to go back to sleep.
Things I love this week:
*Did I mention that my nephew turned EIGHT MONTHS OLD on Monday? I really can’t believe it. He’s growing so fast. He yells, “mama!” when he wants my sister’s attention. He is basically crawling. (Still not completely on his knees, but he’s VERY close.) He’s starting to stand up while holding on to things (mostly because Mom can’t pick him up with her broken wrist, so he’ll pull himself up so that she can get to him). He waves and says “bye, bye.” He cries when I leave (which is both heartbreaking and adorable). He has two bottom teeth now. He drinks from a sippy cup (and loves it)! He’s still breastfeeding, but he also eats a huge variety of baby foods as well as some “adult” foods (like French fries, grits, and even small bites of scrambled eggs). At his last doctor’s visit (he went because he wasn’t feeling well), he weighed over 17 lbs. He goes back to the doctor early next month for his regular check-up. I’ll try to get a post up soon of some recent photos.
*My parents are doing well. Dad was cleared to go back to work and he’s walking fine on his broken leg & toe, so it looks like it healed up well. Mom is still in a cast for her broken wrist, but she doesn’t need surgery, so that’s good! Their insurance is also paying to fix their motorcycle, so it wasn’t totaled.
*Husband and I went to Dollywood on Sunday. His parents had gone over the weekend, and they received two free tickets, so they gave them to us. It was fun for us because we’ve never gone to an amusement park together. We rode one roller coaster (which rattled our brains a bit); we rode around on the train; we took a ride on the ferris wheel (which was the first time I had ever been on one–and it will be the last because I’m terrified of heights!); we ate greasy food, and I had some apple pumpkin fritters for dessert. Overall, it was a nice break from our normal routine. We’re hoping to go in November/December to see Christmas decorations.
*Ashlee is having a baby. SQUEEEE!
What are your wines and loves this week?
