A Little Cuteness

I’ve been a sort of emotion wreck the past few days. Thinking about Granny & Pawpaw, my sister being in Florida, how slowly my life is taking to get to where I want it to be … Just to name a few things that have really pushed my spirits down. I’m in the process of attempting to focus on the good rather than the sad, but it’s difficult. With that said, I’m just going to take this opportunity to post some photos I’ve taken with the D5000. Nothing too impressive, but I’m still learning. Mostly, I’ve been trying to capture Loki, but he seems to think the camera is his number one enemy right now. Ah, oh well.

Too much cuteness for one day, right? Okay, okay. I’ll stop. You can see the rest on my flickr page. I will leave you with one more photo, though. I made these amazing almod cupcakes last night. I’m calling them the “three-hour cupcakes” for now, though. That’s another story for another day…

If you have any tips for using the D5000, feel free to email me! I’m open to some pointers.

A Worried “Mother”

I woke up this morning to 29° F weather. (Now, I know that most of you have been enduring much colder weather than I, but it was just 70° F last week!) I made sure I piled on the layers before heading out the door, but I realized that I need more winter-friendly clothing. I’m excited for the holiday season that lies just around the corner. And snow. Please, mother nature, gives us some snow.

Since I’m back on my 7am-3pm shift, Husband had to take Loki to his 8:30 a.m. appointment at the vet. He’s getting fixed today, so he wasn’t allowed to eat or drink anything after ten last night. When I was getting ready for work this morning, he followed me around, sadly. And he looked hungry. It was all I could do not to sneak him some food.

After 8:30, Husband sent me a text saying that Loki was miserable on the way to the vet due to the cold temperatures outside. Not only that, but Husband felt like a parent not wanting to leave his child alone. Unfortunately, he had to leave, and now I feel sad imagining how completely terrified Loki must be. Not only that, but they told Husband we might be able to pick him up today (after they told me we’d be able to pick him up for sure by six this evening).

How do you feel after having to leave your pet at the vet’s office? What did you do to make him/her more comfortable after their arrival home?
